Who’s Holiday

DECEMBER 1 — DECEMBER 31

Can you tell us a little bit about Who’s Holiday?

Who's Holiday is a fun, adults only comedy with a lot of heart. Cindy Lou Who is not the girl of her youth! She has been through the ringer and has been dealt a rough hand in life, but maintains a beautiful sense of optimism. It is a story of hope, acceptance, and love.

We’re so excited for the show! What does it feel like having to prepare for a one-person show? Is the process different in preparing for any other show?

Preparing for a one woman show has been exciting and terrifying all at the same time! It's definitely a new experience for me. The process is the same in some ways: Learning the script, blocking, and memorization but it is very different not having anyone else to rely on or play off of. It's been super strange to run lines all alone. I guess it's nice to not have to memorize cue lines!

What is it about Who’s Holiday that excites you?

The exciting thing about this show is that it is funny and entertaining, but spreads such a beautiful and relevant message about acceptance. I am also excited for people to see Cindy Lou (and the Grinch) in an entirely different way. Anyone who sees the show won't look at these characters the same way again (in a good way). I know I won't!

I would assume it’s a little nerve-wracking not only leading but having to carry a show. What’s your biggest challenge in this role?

My biggest challenge is exactly that... leading and carrying the show. It is a lot of pressure, but I am so here for it! I am known in the Denver theater community for my dancing skills and ensemble work, but I am more than up to the challenge of proving myself as an actor. I can't wait for people to see another side of me.

Can you tell us a bit about how you started performing?

I started taking tap and ballet when I was 3 or 4. I may have been "the little one on the end" at that first recital, but I made sure my presence was known on stage. I definitely hammed it up while dancing to "Hey Mickey You're So Fine". I could get enough of the applause at the end!

Why do you still perform?

Performing was my first love. It is my passion and my outlet from the stresses of everyday life. I can't imagine my life without the stage.

What’s your dream role, and what do you feel you would bring to it?

Roxie Hart in Chicago! I would bring sass, attitude, authenticity and sincerity to the role.

What’s a fun fact people may not know about you?

Hmmm...this is a hard one. I am addicted to chapstick and trash television, and I can't ride a bike 😂 (Feel free to not share those ones) haha

Why should people come and see Who’s Holiday?

People should come see this show because it will make them laugh and make them cry and it will be an experience unlike any other. It's not your same ol same ol holiday activities. This story is special because it is something we can all relate to. We have all had our fair share of trials and tribulations in life, and we have all had to find our way out of difficult times. This is a story about learning from our past and moving forward with hope and optimism.
