Lunar New Year Community Night and Silent Auction
Insight Colab Theatre is newly rebranded, previously known as Theatre Esprit Asia. As TEA, founded in 2012, we were the Southwest’s first and only Asian American theatre company. Theatre Esprit Asia focused on bringing opportunities to Asian Americans with shows rooted deep in culture. Previously, TEA occupied the Aurora Cultural Arts District Studios and Galleries building. Our audiences were diverse, and still are!
Now, as Insight Colab Theatre, we’ve been operating out of the People’s Building. Insight Colab Theatre is focused on expanding from our roots in the Asian American community to a truly diverse and multicultural collective.
One of our goals for 2024, is to host more community events and bring you enhanced shows. Community events are a way for us to get to know our community, and you our valued patrons. We've been on such a wild journey and we are so blessed to still have you as part of our theatre family.
This year, first, we intend to host a fundraiser to coincide with the Lunar New Year in February 2024. We're also gearing up to stage our first published work, since the rebrand of the theatre. We are looking at the show, 4000 Miles, by Amy Herzog. There are a few logistical things to confirm, but we're hopeful. The play follows a 21-year-old man who seeks solace from his feisty 91-year-old grandmother following a major loss in his life. The play is a dramatic comedy and ran Off-Broadway in 2011, and again in 2012. It was also a finalist for the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.
Come celebrate with us and help us build our future!! We can't wait to see you there!
