Executive Director Margaret Norwood Ends Tenure at Vintage after Three Years of Service

AURORA, COLORADO. After three years of service in the roles of Interim Executive Director and Executive Director and six years of service on the Board of Directors, Margaret Norwood is stepping down and transitioning into new creative and professional endeavors. She will stay on through the end of the current season in late June.
Margaret Norwood brought exceptional versatility and vision to her role as Executive Director at Vintage Theatre Productions. Under her leadership, the theatre has flourished as a vibrant cultural hub, producing nine mainstage shows annually while supporting a theatre for young audiences tour, weekday cabaret performances, poetry events, a gallery showcasing local artists, and a summer youth camp. Her work as a photographer and visual artist was occasionally highlighted at Vintage in programs and in the Monica Horn Gallery. Her commitment to the Aurora Cultural Arts District strengthened the theatre's community presence and artistic impact.
Margaret shared, “I'm proud to have been entrusted with leading Vintage Theatre, one of the most prolific and vibrant arts organizations in our region. Serving this diverse community has been a journey filled with beautiful moments, meaningful challenges, and profound rewards. It has been my privilege to collaborate with so many passionate artists, dedicated staff members, and committed volunteers who share our vision of creating genuine connections through storytelling. Together, we've produced high-quality theatre that not only entertains but strengthens the bonds within our community - work that matters now more than ever.”
Board President Tanya Lilly reflected on Margaret’s time at Vintage, saying, “Margaret has done a great job completing the purchase of the building, the South Side mural (Colfax Canvas 2024), and has worked with the Aurora Art in Public Places Commission for five years. Margaret has always been a driving force of networking, and getting Vintage’s name known throughout the theatre community. When Margaret engages with patrons, she is a gem and a sight to see. She makes them feel as though they are family at Vintage, keeping them up to date on new theatre activities and ensuring they have a great experience. Her presence will be greatly missed by Vintage and our patrons.”
Vintage is currently organizing an internal committee to serve as the hiring team for the Executive Director role. To be added to the mailing list for the initial distribution of the job description when it becomes available, please email careers@vintagetheatre.org.
