What excites you about Gyspy and the role you are playing?
I’m super excited to be making my professional debut, nonetheless with an amazing show at an incredible place! I am also excited to be working amongst such a wonderfully talented cast and creative team.
What’s your process like in preparing for a show like this, and how does that process change (if at all) from other shows?
I’m focusing on my acting and dance in this show, more than I have in the past. My dancing has been a priority for the last few years or so, because it is no secret that it doesn’t come natural for me. My concentration on acting is fine-tuning it to fit my character.
What’s your biggest challenge about taking on this role?
Dance is the biggest challenge, but that’s typical for me :)
How did you get started performing?
I took after-school theatre classes in early elementary school, which turned into musicals, which turned into a love for performing!
Why do you still perform?
I love the rush of the theatre and the cycle of it all- my life is a wheel of auditions, rehearsals, and shows, often overlapping productions.
What’s your dream role, and what do you feel you would bring to it?
Sweeney Todd! I don’t typically play villains (usually comedic sidekicks), however this role is different! The majority of this fantasy may come from the fact that I am often told I look like a Tim Burton character…
What’s a fun fact people may not know about you?
I’m a leftie - the devil’s kin!
