Meet the Creative Team of She Kills Monsters: Susan Rahmsdorff-Terry

I'm Susan Rahmsdorff-Terry and I am the Costume Designer for She Kills Monsters. Fun Fact, this will be my 40th show I've costumed at Vintage!

I'm inspired by a lot of literary fantasy - Patricia C. Wrede's Dealing with Dragons and Lord of the Rings of course, but when it comes to D&D I tend to lean more towards the game Munchkin, which is a wacky, simplified D&D adventure with things like the Boots of Butt-kicking and a Broad-Sword (can only be wielded by female-presenting players).

I am most excited for a scene where a character has his arms ripped off by evil cheerleaders, because it's been a great construction challenge and I'm loving the build.

I have played D&D, but my favorite campaigns are those when I'm just handed a character sheet and told to go play - I don't like to put a lot of thought or time into my characters, but I love to play wacky bards and stuck up paladins.

She Kills Monsters is an older sister's fantastical Odyssey through the mind of her teenage younger sister with all the adventures and terrors that implies. Much is learned and much is lost, but in the end she leaves knowing herself and her sister better. Come for the swordfights, stay for the heartfelt revelations. You're never too old to go on an adventure.
